These have the poly lens so that is not a screaming deal. If they were the glass lens then yes great deal if you like them and they fit your needs.

Thanks for your reply, Mike, I understand they are polycarbonate which are much safer for your eyes, than glass, if they get hit by a jig or weight.

I have 6 or so pair. For all applications. Offshore, inshore, cloudy lakes, sunny lakes, everyday, etc. All but one are glass. The glass is a higher quality and more scratch resistant. Glass is the way to go for most of these applications. The plastic is quite a bit lighter and quite a bit cheaper. All of mine are 580 so I can't speak on the difference on that aspect.

I worked in the sunglass industry for about 15 years and would personally never spend that kind of money on anything but a glass lens. You can get a quality pair of plastic lenses for much cheaper, quality glass lenses are where the difference in money come into play. I own about 6 pair of Costa's and about 12 pair of Maui Jim's and have just 1 pair with plastic lenses. I do have the brines in glass and they are great for fishing. As far as safety goes, the new technology in glass lenses will not shatter like in the past or sunglass companies would be getting sued left and right. Plastic is great for 2 things, weight and being shatterproof. Glass will shatter but not to the point of breaking off in your eyes, just to the point of having to replace the lenses through the replacement warranty. Plastic will usually scratch up super easy unless you baby them heck out of them, where glass are superior in scratch resistance and clarity, no comparison between the 2 on this. A less expensive pair of glass lenses will be superior to a expensive pair of plastic lenses and last you years longer and save you money in the long run.

Just my opinion from 15+ years in the business.

Anyways, gets what is best for you and the best pair you can afford.

Yes totally agree, while I'm partial to kaenon lenses I like Costas in glass. I bought Magellan's in glass at academy for $99 once in a pinch and they were awesome. Especially for $99. Weedeater thru a rock into a lense and the glass shattered but stayed in place like a car windshield. Saved my eye from a direct hit from a rock
