Got back last week from a trip to the Holy Land and feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to walk where our Lord walked. It was even better because I got to go with wife, daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandsons. While there it occurred to me I should have brought a Mepps to try it in the Sea of Galilee. Here are a couple of pics:

Yours truly on the Sea of Galilee

Well, it is always nice to get back home from a long trip and get back into one's routine, which, for me, includes fishing. I fished a little from Thursday through Saturday on the south end of the lake. They were hard to find but managed a few including the nice crappie below that my sis caught. Today I went out at 12:30 PM after the rains. The lake was smooth and not too hot. I headed north and found an abundance of catchable fish in four spots: the south edge of Iron Wall Hump in 24 fow (graph shot below), the south edge of Spillway Hump on the slope in 25 too 27 fow, the south slope of Enchanted Isle Ridge in 22 fow and all over Game Warden Hump in 14 to 18 fow. I ended up with 71 fish by 3:30PM and headed in. I left catching fish every cast at all 4 places. In addition to #4 Mepps I could also catch fish on a 3/4 oz Little Cleo burning it up from the bottom. Fish were mostly whites averaging 14 inches, but also caught 4 legal hybrids at Spillway Hump.

Please feel free to add your Cedar Creek Reports to this post, which I'll also keep updating throughout June with additional fishing reports.

Great report sir, and what a good trip you must of had. My grandparents went to the Holy Land years ago and really enjoyed it. I have always wondered what it would feel like to be there in person. Thanks for sharing.

Oh we missed ya at the twok tourney. Filetmaker and I mepps'ed good 15 incher sandies at the tourney. The 16 inchers were illusive. But we had a blast with the mepps.

You are fortunate to make the trip to the Holy Lands. It would have been awesome to get your report on the Sea of Galilee.

Great travel pictures. When I was in Rome last year I went to a fishing shop and bought a few lures. One was a local made double spinner. Imagine a longer mepps with two spinner blades. I haven't used it yet, since it is sort of a souvenir. Maybe I'll expose the fish on CCL to a little Roman Culture this summer.

As always thanks for sharing your fishing adventures to those of us who are stuck in our places of work during the week. Hope to see you out on the lake soon.

Thursday 6/22: Went out from 3:40 til 7 PM and managed 61 including 7 legal hybrids, 12 cats and the rest white bass. Tried some different spots - caught them at Long Ridge in 24 fow on a finger that juts out toward the SW from the high spot, on 3-Jug Hump in 23 fow and out on the east tip of Merimac Point where the water is 24 fow. At this last spot I was sitting in 24 fow and throwing to the north slope. Caught 4 of the hybrids there. Left that spot catching one every cast. I'm still using #4 silver Mepps Aglia.

Sounds like CC is in a good summer pattern. Todd is loving his Mepps technique!!
