Jay Kumar sent this link out in his Bass Blaster e-mail the other day. It's Chad Pipkens on Ross Barnett throwing a frog. Watch what happens... https://www.instagram.com/p/BTm8LgtlxsW/

Did this exact thing on Friday on Lake Raven in Huntsville. Threw my frog by a "log" and the "log" started swimming away.

Did something very similar on rayburn earlier this year. Was flipping hay grass because we were struggling and I was just looking down and not ahead. We came to a little tree that looked real fishy and then the grass bent back out. Well I was completely paying attention to the tree and flipping and the boat was just about to edge up in the grass when I turned a little to flip again while I turned the boat and bam, a 8 footer laid up on the grass staring right at us. Never made a sound or swam off, just stared at us. Scared the [censored] out of me. That thing was close enough to get in the boat real easy

Used to live and fish in north Florida so have plenty of experience with the big lizards. Fished past two on Seminole that I mistook for logs as they had kicked a bunch of grass up on their backs. Both were close to the length of my 17' Bass Tracker. On another occasion on a different lake I happened upon an entire area filled with baby gators less than a foot long who chased my buzzbait relentlessly. Left in a hurry as I did not want to meet Mom.

My roommate, Marty Robinson, and I were pre fishing that lake two years ago and we came up on a gator...about 3-1/2ft long or so. He, not being from around the south, wanted to catch it. He couldn't understand why I immediately put down my rod and dug out my phone. I wanted to record his action....well...it went really badly. He said he never thought those things were that fast. I was like DUH!! Scared the [censored] out of him.
I wish I had not dropped my phone in the water at the ramp the next day. It was so funny to see how fast he could run from the front of the boat to almost on top of the motor.
Eat. Sleep. Fish.
