My son and I will be taking the boat to Joe Pool in about 3 weeks. We have never set eyes on the lake. We plan to launch at the state park.

1. Are there any areas of the lake we should be concerned about running the boat?
2. Any advice on what/where to fish would be appreciated.

Thanks

Area circled in red is open to run. Just stay off of the points. A lot of them run shallow a little ways out. JP is all about fishing deep this time of year.

Pool is easy to navigate. Stay inside the bridges in the above picture and stumps will be visible of where to use caution. Take points wide until you figure out the long ones. I think the fish go on vacation this time of year. I haven't really figured out where to find them deep yet
