The Ray Hubbard Bass Club held our fifth members only tournament of 2017 last Saturday June 10th on Cedar Creek Lake. The weather was hot and the wind blew hard all day. Between that and summer boat traffic, a kidney belt was needed for moving around the lake. Washing machine is a perfect description. 30 boats came out to play and big fish were hard to find. At the end of the day, Dennis and Damon Machost topped everyone with a great summer time bag of 18.10 pounds. Steve Tigert and Derek Sullivan took big bass honors with a 5.29 beast. Here are full results and pictures.

Dennis and Damon wait to weigh their fish. Dennis had to leave early. He had a Saturday night appointment with Jimmy Buffett and ZZ Top. grin

Troy and Lance Smith had one to show for a long day on the water.

Ronnie and Blake Manning had two for 6.46, but one of those weighed 4.56. Check out that shirt on Blake! thumb

Josh Mulkey and Tim Havins had four for 7.87

Dale Rettman and Kelly Millhollon had a limit for 8.12

Eddy Wooldridge and Bryan Toombs had three for 8.42 that included a 3.81

It's a Crawford family group shot, complete with matching shirts! James and Shellye weighed three for 6.35, but Trey and Daniel got bragging rights at dinner with four for 9.28

Vince Burt and Mark Werner as usual weighed a limit for 9.70

Because he doesn't like to be photographed, I took a covert shot of the one and only Jerry Brown getting ready to weigh their fish. He and Tony Schnurr had a limit that weighed 9.74

Tim Light and Justin Truett had five for 10.17

Chris Atkinson and myself finally figured out how to catch five! They weighed 10.71

Paul Villarreal and Joe Ruiz had a solid limit of 11.15

Bubba and Elliott Davis followed up their great day on Palestine with an 8th place finish. Their limit weighed 11.16

Robert Hitt and John Bruner are having a good year. They got 7th place with five for 11.71 that included a 4.34 kicker.

Our first two teams in the money also escaped my camera. In the case of David and Stan I know it was on purpose.

Sixth place went to Jeff Butcher and Johnny Moreno with five for 13.55. Finishing just ahead in fifth were David Choate and Stan Browning who had five for 13.64 that included a 3.92

Finishing fourth were David Mulkey and Jay Messersmith. They had a good limit of 13.85 that was anchored by a 4.43. Love the smile on David! grin

Consistency wins AOY Championships and that's why Andy Medina is on top of the points standings right now. If Ricky could make the meetings, he would be right there with him. The Medina Brothers finished 3rd with five for an adjusted 13.87 that included a 4.61 big fish.

Finishing second were Steve Tigert and Derek Sullivan with a good limit of 14.70 that included Big Bass of the tournament, a 5.29

Here's Derek with his toad.

Here are your winners. Former RHBC Anglers of the Year Dennis and Damon Machost won going away with five for 18.10. They had two over 4 pounds. Their biggest went 4.53. Congratulations guys!

Thanks to our TD team of Robert Hitt, David Mulkey and John Bruner. Thanks to David Simmons for starting registration at a ridiculously early hour and keeping the money straight. Our next tournament will be on Lake Lavon on Saturday July 8th. We'll start early at 5:30 and fish until 2:30. Long day for the summer. We'll leave out of the Lavonia South ramp. Hope to see you there!
