So fishing was pretty good today. Caught a bunch of smallish fish, had a couple of good ones that got off. They wanted a crank bait so I fed it to them. Learned some things about mismatched tackle and equipment, once I got it tuned in I stopped losing fish....
Then I went looking for some sandies and stripers; lake was kinda rough from the pleasure boats and the south wind. Front end took a few hard hits and at one point my 2 month old Helix 7 broke off of the Ram Mount.....I last saw it hanging by the transducer and power cables over the side of the bow.....right before it let go and went to the bottom of Hell's Gate. Ram Mount is intact, Helix mount came completely off, still not quite sure how. Thank goodness for insurance, still sucked losing that cause it was a good day until that point.

The 1198s would float, I guess the Helix doesn't.
