First question 1) I want to order a power pole and a hummindbird helix from Tackle Warhouse. Obviously it's going to be a big order. Or at least a big order for me lol My goal is to purchase by next spring/summer. I'd like to wait until Tackle Warehouse runs their sale, does that sale apply to either of those two items?
2) I currently have an 1198c humminbird at the dash. I'm replacing the one at the bow. Where should I place my humminbird helix 10? I will spend most of my time at the bow, looking at whatever unit is there following a contour. Some guys i've talked to say put the helix at the dash and move the 1198 to the bow, but from what I understand the helix's are pretty awesome and given I'll spend most of my time at the trolling motor, I personally think that's where I'll put it. Just want to hear what you guys think.
Thanks for the help and suggestions guys
Mitch
Thank you Lord for the gifts in my life

They will be on sale. The website will say "not on sale" since they have to adhear to MSRP and MAP set by the companies. The discounted price will be in the "cart" when you submit to pay.

As for the Helix? It will make the older screen look like useless garbage, so put your Helix where you will use it most.

These may help you make the decision: - Up front all you need to see is down scan/sonar and contour lines on map. - If you had it up front then Side Scan would be reading off the back of the boat. - The TM does not move fast enough to give a good Side Scan image. - Driving and scanning is the thing right now until fish migrate to the shallows and back of the creeks this Fall. - When driving and searching you want the best you can get on the console. - Which ever you decide both units need to be linked together for setting weigh-points and you may want to switch over to side scan when fishing ledges from the front occasionally.
Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success. I am currently running a 998 up front, 1198 in dash and helix 10 on a ram mount at the dash. I have all 3 linked but do have a source issue with the 998 on gps. I ran a separate puck for up front and resolved that problem. The helix is SO much sharper than the1198 that I only use it the 1198 for my mapping, waypoints and gps, I turned the sonar off. I use the helix for everything sonar, di and si. Crystal clear resolution. The 998 is sonar, di and map. If it were me I would put the 1198 up front and the helix at the console. Just my 2 cents worth.
