If I show a buddy a spot, I'll let him know ahead of time when I would like him to stay off of it and to not show it to others. Otherwise, it's fair game. If I don't want somebody to fish something, I won't show it to them.

Exactly how I approach it as well. After all, I put in the time to find the spots.
