Wanting to buy in very good condition a:
7'-7'4" Heavy or Extra Heavy action baitcasting rod
Extra fast taper - fairly stiff
1/2 - 1 1/2 oz or similar
Preferably with black guides
1 piece, no extension
Split grip or solid handle
Cork or quality EVA
Will use it for 1 oz - 1.5 oz jigging spoons and 3/4 oz - 1.0 oz jigs
Guess I should add that my budget max is around $150

Could be made for heavy weight Carolina rig, Froggin' rod, heavy weight jig rod, flippin' stick, etc.

Tell me what you have and asking price. Needs to be within 50 miles of Lake Fork.

I have one for sale that is listed here on the forum in the trading post section that is brand new TFO 7' 2" heavy retails for $189.95 and am selling for $100.00 with a Skeeter emblem on rod blank. They also have an excellent warranty program that is located in Dallas. I live in the Mesquite area. Rod is a TFO Pace Maker, model no. TPM SB 726-1, 10-25lb.,lure 1/2-1 1/2 oz. Pictures can be viewed on the the TFO rods website. Great rod and even a better price! thumb

Thanks for the info KB1953. I read about the rod on the TFO website and noted this rod has a moderate action. I need a faster action to be able to use the rod for my intentions. You do have a very nice rod and a great price!

Thanks Basstalk. Looking for a used rod to try and keep the cost down. The Dobyn's is a great rod.

Hi Basslikeme..Cashions are well made and popular but I just don't care for the handles. Not sure the Loomis GL3 that is rated (per info from TW) for 1/4-1 oz will properly handle using lures with weights near or above the stated limits for the rod. I need a fairly stiff action with just a little give for my purpose. I'm hoping to find something like 1/2-1 1/2 oz. Possibly the Loomis construction will handle lure weights > specified for the rod, but will potentially not due justice for the rod's performance?

Befuddled..... I primarily used the GL3 for reaction type of baits swimbaits, umbrella rigs and had it paired with a Calcutta 200. I had no issues with the rod as far as it being underpowered. The rod is a tank, fishing Umbrella rigs on Texoma you occasionally would have 12-15 lb stripers that would do their best try break it in half but always ended up in the boat.

The Cashion is a beast of a rod and would without a doubt handle anything you can throw at it. The handles take some getting used to but after a day of fishing you won't pay it any attention.

Pm me if you would like to give either of these a shot.

I have a 7'6" Denalli Rosewood extra heavy ,I believe it says custom flipping stick on it. Has split cork grip and in good shape. Not sure on the taper but you could check it out. I have been throwing frogs on it and it gets the job done. I would take $100 for it. Thanks
