Is it as rough between Loafers Bend and Towash, in say a 15mph forcasted south wind, as it is from of McCown to B Bluff?

How is the boat ramp at Loafers Bend Park when its windy?

Thinking about going down one day next week to give that part a try. I have usually launched at McCown but Tuesday it was pretty rough getting from Cedron across to McCown. It was too rough for me to stay on anything from there to State Park except for about the 1st hour of the day.

Really 15mph should not be an issue on Whitney. That said 20+ does get pretty rough. Yes a it will be calmer up by the dam w/a south wind but no for a very long distance as you head up. Whitney has been fishing pretty good and there are some protected creeks just up from Cedron that will get you out of a south wind that I have caught some fish on lately. Just head out of Cedron and head down towards dam staying on right(west) bank. Some decent creeks on right by those first bluffs(which means deep water close by wink )

Thanks for the tip. I've looked at those spots but never really fished them.
I'm pretty sure if the forecast says 10-15mph it means 15-25 on the water. At least thats the way it seems to work out for me. That crosswind is a booger.

It is always a lot calmer as soon as you go under Katy Bridge going north on the lake.

We fished it with 15- 20 sse winds last Monday out of a bass tracker and it was not bad at all. It was really nice around the loafers bend and towash area. We launched at loafers east ramp really easy.

That sounds good. We're gonna give it a try.

Thanks

Can't say I've ever really seen Whitney rough besides down by Loafers in a big north wind
