So I have a few brands of just standard fishing face masks, but my problem is when I put them over my mouth + nose I get the warm air that goes up under my glasses and sometimes fogs my glasses. I almost have to leave them a little lower, but then I get that little sunburn area which I do not like either.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a facemask with good airflow? I see the Gillz brand has several vents and "Patent pending design eliminates sunglass fog" but I have no experience with this brand, does it actually work?

Thanks,
Wes

I put sun screen on my nose area because of that fog and heat issue.

I do the same. I have the Simms and I like it the best but it still dogs my glasses

Sun screen doesn't work for ya?

Those things are too hot to wear all day. I have a few of them and use them for fish rags now.

Now I use bull frog sun screen....like spf 1,000,000 or something.

I don't have the gillz brand, but have one that is older called a gatorskin, ( I think they are out of business ) and it has a mouth panel, it does work to keep the glasses from fogging up, so, I would think that the gillz would work also. I also have one of the bigger summit ones, I like it a lot.

Most of the time I just have it around my neck so the sun doesn't beat down on it all day long. I still wear sunscreen. And if its really hot I dip it in the lake and that keeps me cool.

I knew this thread couldn't make it one full page without someone sayin something like that.

There are several different companies that make different fits. Keep trying until you find the right brand and stick with it.

They are actually cooler than the sun beating down on you. Dip it in water helps even more. Thinking about getting matching g-string to go with my facemask. I feel a GQ comin' on......

The best defense against the sun is to completely cover, I use the Simms, it doesn't fog me up too bad. I have some other ones as extra's in the boat. Also, you stay cooler with the spf clothing they have now, direct sunlight makes you warmer.

If you want sunscreen here is a good article, they all aren't created equal. Good bit about UVA versus UVB.

I have a sunscreen allergy, so I cover from head to toe. The Gillz brand does work better for me than most. Does not fog nearly as much.

take some dish soap and rub it on the lenses of your glasses. Rub it in real good, then buff it off with a microfiber towel. Its leaves a very thin film over the lenses, and prevents them from fogging up. Cyclist have been doing this for years
