There is a large pond next to our neighborhood creek and every evening something big slaps the top of the water. We've fished the pond a million times and it's full of sunfish. Any help on what the monster or monsters might be would be helpful. Thanks.

May well be carp. Take some time to chum an area with some canned corn and then put out a line or two with small hooks baited with corn. Watch your rods so that they don't get dragged into the lake.

There is a big beaver that lives in the creek but this is a fish slapping the water. I'm thinking carp or gar. We will bait some corn and see what happens.
