Either way you're screwed... Thought I would try to save some money and go with at Watersnake Trolling Motor from Amazon.. for $350 I figured it was probably as good as the others... Well I do have to say I really did like the trolling motor over my 80lb Minn Kota All Terrain from 2003......the electronics worked great, smooth turning, the speed control worked very well and I was able to adjust speeds with my foot...It was 50lb thrust and got the job done... I was very happy with it..for the first 2 times out on the water with it... Until my first full run in with a stump, I have a 16 foot Stratos and moving along about half speed, when I bump into a stump... Here is the aftermath So if you lake doesn't have stumps I would say that this would be a great trolling motor for you for the price...but if you ever decide to visit a lake with stumps...this might not be the best investment.. Here is the other watersnake we caught on Lake Fork on Saturday June 3rd. How appropriate for the occasion.. https://www.instagram.com/p/BU60gCOBuqJ/?taken-by=cruzfishing

So, the MinnKota lasted 14 years at around $1000, and the China made water snake lasted 3 trips at $300.....hmm. Sounds like the MinnKota was a pretty solid investment. Bet ya won't make that mistake again! Thanks for the review and the heads up for all the other here that might be looking for a new TM.
