 Where to kayak fish in Galveston??

Were taking the kiddos to Moody Gardens mid July. I was thinking about bringing the kayak. Would it be worth it to try the bayou right behind the hotel? Or any other suggestions? or would I be better off just leaving the Kayak at home and hitting the different Piers and Beaches and Maybe Sea Wolf Park at Night???

Bayou Vista area......Put in at Louis' Bait camp on Hwy 6 and head toward Jones Lake. Try Sea Wolf with the kids

Bayou Vista area......Put in at Louis' Bait camp on Hwy 6 and head toward Jones Lake. Try Sea Wolf with the kids I found that launching point but not seeing jones lake. Is it north or south?>

it's the bay between Bayou Vista and Tiki Island. the marsh around Jones and between BV and Harborwalk is a kayak paradise. just paddle under the RR bridge and turn right at the first slough.

I probably wouldn't hit offats or the creek right next to Moody Gardens. Fish the shallow shell reefs around jones or some of the inlets to the marsh with a small very shallow running crankbait or spinner bait with gulp curltail instead of a skirt. Spook junior in bone would be fine as well.
