I recently picked up fishing couple months back. I mostly fish creeks and have been successful catching many bass and panfish.
Me and my girlfriend are staying the weekend in the Fulton Area for my 30th birthday and our condo has a private 800 ft pier with lights right on the bay. I feel like saltwater fishing is a whole new ballpark and I'm feeling slightly overwhelmed with what kind of tackle I'll need to be successful pier fishing. Not trying to catch a whale, but I'd like advice to catch anything. I more than likely will hit up a bait shop and use live bait. My gear right now ranges from 6 to 8 foot rods from Light to Medium Heavy action...would love to find a use for them all. We will be fishing early mornings and late at night with the lighted pier.
If anyone has any advice on what proper tackle/setups or anything else I need to know and can steer me in the right way I'd greatly appreciate it.

Freelined shrimp is my go to setup w/ a #4 treble hook. My second set up is a popping cork w/ shrimp ( live bait) for both setups. I would start fishing right in the middle of the light and work out to the shadow

2nd on the free line shrimp. Speck rigs will also work. Don't be afraid to work just outside the lights. Good Luck.

Yep free line shrimp but on a single hook. I like circle hooks but that is me. Treble hooks can kill a lot of small fish. Like above mentioned don't be afraid to fish the outside of the lights.
