 When your 13 yr old son says.....

"Dad, can we go fishing this week?" Of course I jump at the chance. He has decided he wants to go to Lake Fork (I didn't tell him fish are probably pretty pressured up with the SOT this past weekend). We will be there Wed evening (6/14), Thursday and Fri until noon. We stay at Lake Fork Marina and usually fish that area of the lake. I'm no expert fisherman by any means (usually only catch them shallow in the Spring). I realize they have moved deeper (I have ZERO experience in deep/open water) so if anyone has any suggestions/advice, please let me know.

Not all fished moved deep, we caught bunch shallow.... do you have electronics and a map? do a little map reading then get to graphing

you can beat the bank but if you do look for spots that have some differentiation

Thanks in advance. Have a great time with your son, have a chicken fried steak at Oak Ridge and next day have a Fish platter at A.J.'s fish house. Can't go wrong.

A lot of fish were caught shallow this past weekend, you dont have to get out deep, especially in the morning. Good luck!

With all the new water, there are still lots of fish up shallow on Fork.

Probably preaching to the Choir but look for the white Egrets on the banks early in the morning. Top water bite in front of the birds was great this past weekend. Lots of 2 pound to slot size fish. Your son may get a little excited watching a blowup on his top water. Good Luck and enjoy the time with your son.
