Thursday's morning trip! We left the dock around 6:30 and I should've known better with the full moon that our bite on big fish would have been later. We took off and looked around catching a couple here and there with lots of short hybrids in the mix. Finally around 10ish we found a LARGE school of striper, we caught our limit and released no telling how many more! All of our fish came off shad from 22' to 35', the humps had plenty of fish on them, but nothing that was schooled up in a feeding pattern. thumb

Thursday Evening! I had Matt out for an afternoon trip and it was pretty much all catch and release, we kept just enough for him to eat on with some new recipes! We started at 3:30 and right off the bat hit the lotto of striper and hybrid! I didn't take many pictures because we were in the middle of a rodeo with just two people in the boat, but we landed countless fish! The bite quit on us so we took off to graph around, which didn't take long. We came up on a hump where the whites have been abundant in the evening, we landed every bit of 40-50 on small bait and jigs before leaving them to chase another big school. We ended our evening with some top water action with keeper hybs, short hybs, and whites mixed in!

Saturday Evening! We had a late start on Saturday afternoon but it didn't take us long to get on fish! We had our limit in the boat in almost no time with hurricane force winds to add to that! We found fish pretty much every place we stopped too! We fished with one pole per person just because we couldn't keep anything else in the water smile

Sunday morning! Whew, yesterday morning was humbling early to say the least! I knew in my head we would catch them later in the morning but it was just flat out tough for us until around 8:30! I could see plenty of schools but nothing would cooperate with us, so we made a move to get on some whites to pass the time until the big fish decided to feed! We caught our share of whites and a few keeper hybs and decided to go and wait out the striper, and boy did it pay off! It was nuts! We had to make another bait run and went right back out and kept catching them until noon!!

Moral of the past few trips, I hate a full moon for the early bite lol

We caught good fish but not enough good ones to weigh in. We were throwing back any small fish and keeping only the ones we thought would let us win.

Y'all had some great trips last week. A bunch of very nice fish. Wish I had been there Instead of jacking with my wife's darn pool. I should have walked away and went fishing. bang

I recently bought a house on Twak and as a lifelong bass fisherman, am learning the hybrid/white/striper thing. I'm usually able to catch a few when I go out but if they're not feeding on top, I've really struggled. I swore I'd never use live bait. It wasn't worth the hassle and part of me was too proud. After seeing Andrew's posts and struggling with my slabs and swim baits, I gave in and called him. Wow. He's unbelievable. I've fished with a lot of guides and he's as good as it gets. The graph pic he posted was at 3:30 in the afternoon literally in the middle of the lake. No hump. No structure at all. There's no way I'd ever have even slowed down if I was looking for a spot to fish. They were all big fish. It was literally as fast as you could get the bait to the 40' mark. After that school abandoned us, he quickly got us on top of a school of magnum sand bass. Not a bad way to pass the time while we waited for the "big fish" to crank up again. I could go on, but if you're interested in catching a buttload of fish for fun or the freezer, you won't go wrong with Andrew. Besides that, he's a good dude that you don't mind sitting in a boat with when the fishing does slow down. Now, I can't quite totally give in, but I may just go buy a cast net and a bait tank.
