I recently put a new motor on my boat. Went from a 99 200 EFI to an 06 225 Optimax. I'm needing to reprop the new motor to allow it to get to full RPMs at WOT. Does anyone know a good way or a place that will let you test props? I'm not for sure what I would need to go to.

Are you familiar with BassBoatCentral? They have a page for each brand of boat. I'm sure you could list your boat/motor combination and find plenty of guys with a similar setup. Might save you both time/money and help you get dialed in

Yep. I posted it in the Props section on there. I have a 99 Pro Craft, I just posted it in that section as well. Thanks for the suggestion.

IIRC both motors have 1.75:1 gear ratios. Provided your last motor was propped correctly with only a 25 hp increase you'll more than likely have to go up 1" in pitch, possible 2" at most. Reason I say 2" is only motor was a 2.5L and new one is a 3.0L The added displacement will give more torque.

Good info on calling Steve! I agree go up one pitch, but probably a 25 Fury or Tempest Plus would be a good start, especially in the summer. Maybe a 26 in the cooler months.

You should get some good feedback on BBC.

I'm running a 25P Mercury Laser 2 right now. That's the prop that was on my old motor. The Optimax was only turning it 5300 RPM's at WOT when it was cooler out. Now it's turning it maybe 5100 max.

This ^^^^^ I have never met Josh but Steve can tell you most of the time based off previous test what will go better on your boat or at least get you close. I had a friend use Josh he came to Fork and help him test the prop and brought with him extra props to test with. He spoke very highly of Josh also.

Since you're on that side of the metroplex, you might try B&B Propeller. I haven't used them since Ricky passed, but they were good back then, and Ricky always took me and my boats out and tested the props. I've used Steve at SCP and he was good also, so I'm sure Josh would do you right!
