My friend wanted to take his sons out fishing so I recommended Johnny Forrest hybrid fishing on Lewisville because another friend has fished with him and had a great time. I decided to join them as well. My friend's sons fished before but my friend had not so I thought this would be fun. Additionally, I had never caught a keeper hybrid so hoped I could catch my first. We met at 6:00 this morning to catch the early bite.
First stop my friend hooks his first fish which turns out to be the biggest fish of the day. His sons and I each caught some sandbass and the youngest son caught another hybrid. The schools were drifting in and out of the graph so there would be an intense flurry then it would slow down. We were joined by some of the other guides but ultimately decided to make a move, the second spot resulted in a couple of more hybrids and sandbass then off to the next spot where we drifted but did not catch anything.
We made another move and found a nice school of sandbass but no hybrids. Finally the other guides found a nice school of hybrids and we joined the show. There were three boats all fishing the same school and everyone limited out. We were still 3 short of a limit but decided to call it a day. All in all a great trip with 17 hybrid 15 large sandbass and a few throwbacks of both species. I tried to catch hybrids on light tackle but ultimately gave up after three break offs. I caught 3 at the last stop using Johnny's poles.
This was an epic trip and a lot of fun! Thanks Johnny from all of us for the great time!

We're these on slabs? What area of lake? Heading out here in a bit. Thanks Sorry I did not see this in time to respond before you went out. We fished hunps on the south side of the lake with live shad a couple of cranks off the bottom. I did not try any slabs.
