Hit Lake Travis in the Jonestown ramp area (that's near where I just moved recently) from 7 - 9:30. Caught 5 small LMB. 2.5 lbs was the biggest. 4 on Yellow Magic, 1 on a senko. Had several more blow up on the YM but didn't get em. No electronics working on my boat, so basically hit a couple of points and boat docks in the shade early. Around 9 that shut down and I bailed. Not too bad for a couple of hours.

I keep a boat on LT. That top water bite in the morning is solid and ends around 830 for me. Last week I caught 3 on my first three casts and 6 in about 30 min. I was using a jerk bait and foul hooked two of them. Big was a lil over 3. Headed to my place at Fork in morning.

Hogbus, YOu live in Austin? I'm new to the area (from Dallas), but live 5 minutes from the Jonestown public ramp. I've never fished a lake where you're 10' off the bank and sitting in 35' of water! Gotta get my electronics going on my boat or this lake is gonna be tough!

35 foot? Heck you can be 10 foot off the bank and be in 100 foot. That lake is just weird. OP go to flws youtube and watch "Day 5" video on travis

Fivebites. Try a smoke curly tail grub on spinning rig up on your end of the lake. Trig blue fleck power worm works good two Throw it close and just let it swim down. All of those creeks on the Sandy Creek arm (where you are) hold fish. Just keep it close to the rocks. Good luck. JD

There's one cove in that sandy creek arm that goes from 75 ft to 10ft in less than 5 feet. Travis is crazy like that. Love that cove though. It's probably my favorite on the lake

Thanks Hogbus and wtf242. If you guys ever need a backseat pm me. Like I said my electronics on my boat are jacked up right now so I was basically doing a countdown to determine the depth. I'd love to learn the lake from someone who lives there!

You can catch bass out to 100-120ft at times. They live all over that lake

no need to fish that deep right now. There are 15-20lb bags being caught in less than 20ft

Greetings fellers... I moved to Briarcliff a couple years back but only recently been fishing from our marina in Spicewood and am trying to find my way around this part of the lake. Does anyone have any suggestions for Travis, upriver from say, Point Venture to around Pace Bend?
I've been working cliffs with Rattle-Traps, flats and docks with C-rigs and T-rigs of various worm/creatures. But with not as much success as I'm used to. Fishing unfamiliar waters.

Smoke colored grub, 1/8 ounce head on spinning tackle. Docks, ledges. Keep its lose to cover (docks). Structure (ledges). Lots af numbers. Nice ones every now and again. Early morning jerk bait on points. My lazy arse usually misses the early bite. Trig blue fleck power worm is good also. Good luck. JD

herbsteiner- I'm fishing the same water as you mention and the last few weeks all my bites have been on wind blown rocky banks with flooded brush close to the main river channel. 5-20ft and they have been close to cover......and usually when you find them, there are multiples on that bank/area. Bigger fish have come shallower, however you can find plenty of 14-16" schools out just a bit deeper on the first drop. 7/8oz spoon dropped down to them will put them in the boat all day long. Also look for isolated docks in these areas that may have drains leading to these same areas. Look at google to find them. The last few Tuesday night tournaments I've had a limit with the fish moving through these drains headed up to the isolated docks or windblown flats for the evening feed. Just my 2 cents...
