I have the day off on Monday and thought I might try and catch some bass but a little worried about the wind on big lakes tomorrow. Ant suggestions on places or areas in DFW that might hold fish this time of year that are out of the wind? I will be going by myself so not sure I want to make long river trips like below Whitney.

Find a put-in spot that is in or near a cove, or multiple coves. I will hit Murrell Park on GV in the morning and if the wind gets too high just stay in the coves near the ramp. Hopefully the south wind will blow the bait fish onto the north shore and into these coves.

My theory worked - found half-a-dozen nice sized white bass right up against a wind-blown point in Murrell (all 13-14 inches). Also landed four smallish largemouth and lost one when it jumped that looked like it was at least 3-4 pounds. Very windy this morning, made for a splashy paddle back to the ramp.
