I have a Inception and I love it. I have it on a St Croix Mojo Bass medium, fast action. It's the one they call "plastics". I can toss weightless Senkos all day long with that. I also like TX rigged worms with 1/8 oz weights, I can send those flying! I plan on buying another one when I can. Seems to be a very well made reel!

Primarily have used Shimanos all my life, but picked up two Concept Cs in the last couple of years -- very good reels.

I have their top-end spinning reel and it comes in around $80 as I recall. Solid . . . and I got a 4000 model for heavier shorter casts, more for short work.
Is it a Shimano Ci4+ quality? Not even close but a good value.
My neighbor uses a Concept A and he can cast across the cove we live on. Very far. He rarely backlashes. He won the Lake Athens Tuesday Tournament a few days ago (I was second man on the boat) with a 23.5" 7.66 lbs. LMB. He made a long cast with a frog to catch it.

I got a Concept A recently and I love it. Light as a feather, smooth cast and retrieve and it casts double the distance of my other reels. Very forgiving of my screw-ups when trying to skip under docks or cast light weights into the wind too.

I personally don't own a 13 fishing reel. But my life long buddy who I'm always on the lake with does. He had his jig rod on the deck (concept A paired with a heavy falcon buco) and mine was underneath the deck so I picked it up and pitched it. Got hung on some cross ties on the dock and when I had tension on the line and tried to press the button it just broke. The button had a spring mess up or something. Good news in he sent it in and in the next three days (buisiness) he got the reel back perfectly fine and hasn't had a problem with it since. So I would say yes they CAN break but customer service is top notch and the reels probably don't break often. I'm personally 100% with Lews and swear by them.
Thanking the lord for another day on the water

I have 3 Concept A's and a Creed X. Only had them about 6 months and no complaints yet. Some people will knock the cork handles but they are holding up just fine.

I have 4 of the concept c's and love them. I have several shimanos, zillions, steez and I love throwing the C just as much as the rest of them.

I have three fishing 13 reels and don't have clue which model. If I like it I buy it and go fishing.
Thanks, Billy

The concept A is very good but expensive at ICast in July they are releasing a cheaper reel that will probably be very good for the price but if you're on a budget like me i'd stick with Lews even though the concept A is great

I have all models of the 13 Fishing reels concept A,C,E and three of the KP'S. the higher ends last a little longer but the A's not so much, had one little over 6 months that was a constant problem having to clean to keep it casting good. When new it cast really good but over time seemed like it was gritty and not smooth on retrieve.

I have a Concept A and an Inception reel in my arsenal and I have to say I absolutely love the reels. Big oversized cork handles are so comfortable, reels are very smooth. I'm looking to pick up more because I absolutely love them.

I have 6 of the E's, 2 C's and a KP and I plan on buying more. They are very smooth and the drag is great on them. 0 complaints!
