I have a couple of Apex reels and they seem OK. Not as smooth as a Curado and the antireverse is acting up, but im sure some maintenance will cure that.

I have a Bunch of apex elite. They have been fine but are not holding up as well as my revos and Lews. Would I buy them again? Probably not.

I have 12 of them now. Zero issues. I've broke one so far but my own fault. They by far holder up better then all the other brands I've tried.

I accidentally stomped on an Apex Pro at table rock hard enough to force one of the tines on the drag star to go through my flip flop and bury in my foot and it barely bent it. I'd say they are built pretty well.
