I am primarily a plastic worm/creature bait fisherman.

If you fished a lake that has hydrilla and you had to choose one worm/creature bait, and fish it exclusively throughout the rest of this summer, would you choose a senko style worm, a 7" power worm, a baby brush hog, a 4" ring worm, or something else (if so please name it)?

Thanks for any and all replies.

I throw all of them, so it is good that we are not limited to ONE type bait in this life. If I had to CHOOSE ONE only for summer, it would probably be a 6" lizard. But, that is just me. Glad I do not have to make that decision. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Interesting answer Thad. I fish a lizard in the spring, kinda think of them as a spring bait. Maybe I need to try them this summer.

I like to use a 10" ribbon tail worm in the summer.Texas rigged flipping standing timber, brush piles, or semi heavy hydrilla. Open water or the edge of hydrilla I like to trow it on a carolina rig.

To answer your question, I throw them all to find out what they prefer.

If the hydrilla is tall, I am going to get in and under it with a heavy drop shot very short rig. My bait of choice is a Gene Larew Hoo Daddy Jr. in Watermelon Neon.
