Every once in awhile I see a fish that catches my eye. Not only was it a broad shouldered 15" black crappie, but it had the most beautiful green eyes. When it hit the deck the sun caught it just right and I noticed how much different her eyes were compared to all the others. Usually they are an off color yellow, or even a pearl, but never have I seen one with eyes like this. I admired the fish and was glad for the gift.

Really nice Laner.

I've heard a couple mentions that fish that Bill paints have too much color. Well, look at the scales on that fish and even the nose in front of the eye. Bill paints what he sees. Fish from semi-clear to clear water have plenty of color.
Personally, the black crappie Bill mounted for me looks just like it did when it came out of the water. Beautiful.

I have TONS of stock photos of close up of crappie and some other fish. They have many colors. Somebody wants a black and white crappie....it's their fish, fine. BUT...most want to see the colors in the fish. I must be doing something right.....I have many repeat customers and I have fish coming in daily and not just crappie. Even with all the fish I do, I'm getting most in and out in 3 months or less......except for the big alligator gar!
