I'm going to Caddo for the first time this weekend and from looking at google maps if it is accurate almost all of the Texas side looks inaccessible other than the boat lanes. So my question is should I even waste my time with that or just launch and fish the Louisiana side?

The problem with salvania is that it's unpredictable. It's a floating plant, so it drifts in large mats with the wind. An area might be fishable one day, and not fishable the next day. I was out there this past weekend and experienced just that. It can actually happen in just hours if the wind shifts directions. Some of the mats cover acres of the lake. Personally, I'd go somewhere else right now.

I just left the lake bout hour ago. Fishing is tougher today then I would have thought. Lake came up 2inches looked like and tons of muddy water also flowing out river into the main lake. Just fish where ain't salvania and don't count of fishing it the next day. Texas side is plenty fishable also. Now jeems has a ton of it right now also. Idk how much is fishable there. I only fish texas side period

Cass fished a 2 day event with a week of off limits. I'm sure he found out the salvania was in his spots when they wasn't week before. Lol
