My 13 yr old son and I recently bought our 1st boat. We have fished here and there catching decent fish (only fished in the Spring so the fish have been easier to locate...shallow). As the fish go into summer pattern, we'd like to LEARN how to:

1) set up our electronic settings properly (Lowrance HDS 8 at console and HDS 7 at bow).
2) read what's actually on the graph (are those fish?, or blip on the graph? where is that drop off in relationship to our current boat position?)

We are planning to fish Lake Fork on Thursday June 15th and Friday June 16th. We will be arriving around 5:30pm on Wednesday June 14th at Lake Fork Marina. I was wondering if any one could recommend a local guide/electronics expert that would be able to spend a couple of hours as a guest on our boat to around 5:30pm next Wednesday 6/14 to TEACH us how to read our electronics and increase our odds to catch fish.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Slade is a great electronics guide out there. Someone will come along in a couple of hours that has his number. I think he goes by Forkfish here. He does in it a couple of hours on your boat after he gets your units dialed in on settings.

As mentioned above, Slade is definitely a good resource. If you want to come to Rayburn, get in touch with Clark Reehm. He will give you all the info you want. He's a Lowrance guy also.

Slade for the set up, I waited 2 months in the winter, not one regret about the wait.
