I live in Wise Co and I am surrounded by these Soil Conservation lakes and they are numbered. I am near #4. I went over to check it out because I saw it on google earth. There is an old gate that doesn't look like it has been closed in years and an old faded sign that says that the land is owned by the state and has restricted access. Do they enforce this on old areas like this? I looked on the app fishbrain and it shows people fishing there. I trust yalls judgment on this and would love to hear your opinions. There are several of these around me and they all look they could be good fishing.

Owned by the state, I'd fish it too. I figure "restricted access" should be better defined.

"land is owned by the state and has restricted access" I understand that to only mean it is restricted to anyone from Oklahoma.

In Wise Co you have the LBJ National Grasslands and if it's one of the lakes on it then yes you can. If not.... Well can they shoot first ask questions later still in Texas for trespassing? Not sure about any state owned lakes. These are federal lakes in the grasslands.

And NO. Soil conservation lakes are not public access. Heading off the statement before it comes up. It's been covered before.
