Hello, I need to replace the 4 trailer tires on my 2013 Skeeter FX20, and was wondering if you all had any suggestions? It currently has Goodyear Marathon ST205/75R/14. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Just replaced all 4 of mine. Bought them on ebay for $196 delivered by fedex to door. 8ply D load rating. Paid local shop $10 per tire for mounting. Total paid $236

JoyRoad.Chinese, but have to meet same road criteria as any other tires sold. May be [censored], but we shall see.

There are no ST tires manufactured in this country. Maxxis is made somewhere in Asia but not China. They are also available in 8-10 ply. Many of the RV people, myself included, use them because they are not Chinese tires.
There are a lot of misconceptions out there regarding ST tires. They are not thicker than regular tires. The difference is in the sidewall, which is stiffer to resist flexing under load on hard curves. They are also rated for 65 MPH. You are much better off going with an automobile tire if your boat is within the load range of the tire, otherwise, go with a LT tire. I can't see risking anything of value running the Chinese bombs. It's not a matter of if they are going to separate or blow, it's a matter of when.
Goodyear Marathons and Carlisle seem to be the worst.

Yes, Marathon and Carlisle were thought to be some of the worst. Maxxis seemed to be well thought of but I'm sure people blew them up too. I did read recently where Goodyear was bringing their st manufacturing back to U.S. And were supposed to be working on a higher quality st with a 75mph rating, maybe thats all true? People will always find someway to push anything to the limit. I had an st blow on me in the middle of summer, kept at recommended pressure and not over 65 mph, KBOOM!! Saw a guy doing 80 yesterday on I10 going to San Antonio. pulling a deck boat so failures don't suprise me.

The maximum air pressure is printed somewhere on the tire's sidewall. It is usually around 40 pounds. Use the manufactures' recommendation. Believe me, I found out the hard way.

Check Craigslist 6 ply Carlisle for 49-59 bucks each. They are trailer specs. 50 psi.

A guy in F.W. buys them by the LOT. Current production, good deal.

I bought four 8 months ago and they have been great. Been to Toledo, Rayburn, San Antonio, and all around Dallas with no issues.

Nice old guy too.

I have Carlisle Radials and so far they seem to be holding up just fine but time will tell. Also their radials are rated for 80mph FWIW.

Goodyear Endurance. 6 ply, made in USA, rated for 85 mph.

Discount Tire has them.
