Hey ya'll, I've been trying to search for an amazing fishing charter that can get us some great wreck, rig, or reef fishing here in Texas. Any suggestions?

I'm in Houston so the closest would be Galveston.

X2 screw those guys. Good fishing but Mike has no respect for Rec fisherman. Yeah .... that's true. The CFA clowns, headed up by Jennings and Hickman, have now filed a lawsuit over the extension to the Red Snapper season that guys like you and me just got. I guess it's a good thing for Jennings that there is a never ending supply of folks like the above poster that are either uninformed or just want to catch fish so bad they don't care how bad the folks are they are chartering. There has been a big push by recreational fishermen in Texas for some time now to encourage folks to avoid CFA members charter boats. There are hundreds of good, inexpensive charters out there that rec fishermen support because these charters still support us and not the CFA. There is about a day and a half reading on 2cool about these guys and much of the talk is about Jennings and Cowboys Charters. Here are some posts from this morning: "What's sad is years ago I remember Mike Jennings fighting for recreational before the recreational sector was split. I remember a time when he took his charters out from Bridge Bait, brought them back to that dock and was a part of the recreational. I remember people with their own boats telling those without boats to charter him. The people that helped build his business are now the people and businesses that he is hurting. I don't understand the reasoning for the separation just because some recreational do not own boats. They are still recreational private fishermen just as well as someone who owns their own boat. The non-boat owners should have the same amount of days as the private boat owners and vice versa. Boat owners should not be made to hire a charter just to have a longer fishing season. We put enough money in our own boats to go out when it is convenient for us-there's no way I'm going to put money into theirs."
"I am thinkin' Mikey is finally seeing what he, and his commercial "buddys" have brought on...he would have to be BLIND not to... "To the original poster .... No one hates a thread hijack more than me and I apologize for my part. But I do feel this is all information you need to answer your question about who to charter.

Forget those fighting against us...come on down and pop out with us sometime. I've had a blast fishing with folks I met on this board.
