Laker...I grew up on McQueeney & would love to fish there, but the boat ramp issue keeps me away. 45 years ago I used to machete my way through the brush to get to the bank where we lived, with a bucked full of crickets & grasshoppers. You would not believe the size of the Rios we caught. Would love to see some pics from McQueeney.
Texan...I was surprised by the boat traffic as well...maybe everyone thought it would be muddy after the rain.
DOCTOR...Photography is another hobby of mine, and I think the natural beauty of the fish is awesome.
Side note...One of my ultra lite reels (Lews) crapped out today. I also have 2 pflueger reels seem to be better quality, and have been very reliable. What are your recommendations as far as reliability and quality goes ?
I have a friend who lives on Treasure Island. I can also launch my kayak from his dock and fish off his dock. Right now there is a lot of summer time boat traffic. Even at night there is a lot of boat traffic. Mcqueeney is a great fall/winter and spring lake. I could only imagine how it was years ago. As for ultra light reels I would stick with Pflueger.
