How are you guys storing your jig? I was thinking of getting a fly box for my jigs. I have them in a plano container right now but its a mess and I'm a little OCD. Wanted to see if yall had any cool out of the box ideas?
Also do yall dry your jigs before you toss them in your box?

Glue some cork/foam strips, in a Plano type lure box. If you can't find one w/o the dividers, just cut them out as best you can. I never bother to dry off a jig, before putting back in a box, but it wouldn't be a bad idea......

I have the big case that holds 16 of them and a smaller case that holds 6. I carry the small one on the boat with me and the big one stays in my tying room. Very efficient setup!

I got the idea from YOU. I never bought the small carry box. I ended up with a soft side tackle bag (that came with 4 of the large Plano style box's). 8-9 of the smaller box's fit in this bag, with room for one of the large ones on top.

Can you get the cork strips from hobby? They sell it by the 12" X 12" sheet (pack of 4 sheets, actually), then you just cut it down to the strip size you want/need.

These are 4.50 at cabelas. For me it's easier and neater than anything I could manufacture for the cost.

All the way back in 2012 I found some photo boxes to use for storage of my jigs and these will hold a lot of jigs!!! We bought some of the foam sheets at Walmart or Hobby Lobby, maybe not the thinnest ones?? Anyway we cut the foam to size for the bottom of each of the small boxes and use Hot Glue to fix them in place. These we stick the hooks in and you may want to make sure when you put the small box back in the larger one that your hooks are pointed the right direction so their own weight will not over time make them come loose. Anyway here is a post from 2012 on CDC and you can at least see the boxes before I did anything to them. We got the boxes at Hobby Lobby. http://www.crappie.com/crappie/jig-tying-lure-making-forum/205556-jig-storage-maybe/Skip

I use a fly box from Cabalas. Have about 4 boxes and they fix into a cloth tackle bag also from Cabalas. There is space to carry other items glass case, candy bar, weights of various sizes.... they work for me.
Using the site for a while...this is really great to share fishing ideas and success with others.

If you insist on having a 12 lb box of jigs the photo boxes work great. If you don't need that much storage then I would recommend these. They are on sale pretty often and also make great gifts ideas. Double sided fly box
