What live bait rods do y'all like the best? I have been using my medium action Pro Anglers and I just don't think that they are transitioning to Striper as well as I had hoped that they would for dropping live bait. Been missing quiet a few fish with them. Maybe something a little more limber or play in the tip. I still have a few of the old Ugly CAL 1101's and they do great but Ugly Stik changed everything up and I'm not sure how I feel about their new stuff. Thanks!

I recently bought a few 6'6"? Or 7' ugly sticks ,can't remember for sure, and I like them for striper live bait fishing. I had some of a cheap brand tournament choice that were ok but didn't hold up. Broke a few reeling fish to the boat. Bought uglies at academy's.

i use ugly sticks too. cabelas had a rod that was very similar to the ugly stick and they are great too.

I think I'm going to change my hook selection first and see what my ratio does.

What size are you running now?

I have good luck with MH Ugly Stick GX2's and the older Ugly sticks. I have a few Medium Pro Anglers and have thought about using them on Striper too, but never have.

Been runnin 3/0-4/0 Gama oct circles. I'm gonna try 2/0 Gama octo's.

I do a lot of catch and release. I use the 1/0 circle hooks on 7 foot MH Ugly Sticks with line counter reels. That combo has worked well for me.
