Hey.
Hopefully an electrician will chime in.

A friend of mine was cleaning out his garage and gave me 2 flourescent light fixtures. The fixtures are 3ft in length and carry 2 bulbs each. They're pretty much brand-new. A customer hired him to replace them (he changed his mind 1 month after installing them).

They're still good and almost new.

I was thinking of replacing the lighting in my garage with these.
The only lighting I have in the garage is one of those old single bulb ceramic fixtures that were made before I was even born.

Do I have enough current to power both of these on a single circuit?
(Wired in Series)

Or just one?

Okay, thanks.
Installing the 2nd fixture will require cutting out ceiling, but it'll be pretty simple since it's close by.

If it's not enough power, for sure I'll have to cut out more to feed wires and installing a new breaker.
(Stuff I really don't want to do)

You can use 12/2 Romex to make the jumper from the first to the second light. Typically fluorescent lighting pulls considerably less wattage than the incandescent lamp that is currently installed. LED pulls even less than fluorescent.

Oh okay, I thought they pulled the same.

Thanks.

Thanks again yall

I hooked them up this Saturday, and aside the bulbs on 1 fixture taking a while to light up, everything looks good.
The garage lighting is a lot brighter now.
