Had a great day fishing below the dam today.been going to this spot on and off for over 20 years.I am very disappointed in my fellow fisherman.Just could not believe how much trash was scattered around in the rocks.Beercans, fast-food wrappers, chicken liver tubs, empty hook and fishing gear packaging, anything and everything just everywhere.use the trash can people it aint that hard.maybe the community service crews could get down there.

Agreed. The area of the Red River below Lake Texoma resembles a trash heap most of the time. I just don't understand it.

Pack it in, pack it out is what I learned. PLUS anything else you can take that was left by unscrupulous "Anglers".

BSA taught us to leave it cleaner than it was when we got there. I still do.

This is what i believe and teach my son.... but this is a war we can not win... a battle maybe.... but there will always be trash left by others...unless all outdoorsman, woman, child and all get on the same page... its something we will all have to deal with... just my .02

Well not everyone is a boy scout or cares if they litter or not ( which is a bummer ). I like to bring in a extra trash bag with me and leave it tied up to a tree in hopes that they will use it instead of littering ( I then haul it out during my next visit ) . Believe it or not this does seem to help those that would not haul their own thrash out with them but instead will throw it in the thrash bag.( Disney did a study on this and found that if a human is within 3 feet of a trash can they will us it ) Give this a try next time you head down to your favorite spot and see if it helps , maybe with this little effort we can clean some of our local fishing holes up .

Not all bank fisherman are like this. Sont put us all in the same box. Some have class and some do not. Just be silligent in your part and set good examples and hopefully they'll get the memo that they should have learned from basic home training.

as a bank fisherman I see this every time I am out, just last week I went to couple of bank spots in Lavon and the shore line is just littered with Minnow bags, worm tubs, bottles; you name it; really don't understand the mentality of these folks

If it's legal ain't no way in hell it's catch and release, it's CATCH & GREASE, except ROUGH (TRASH) Fish

Murrell Park on Grapevine is the same way and there are like 4 small dumpsters scattered around just one area near the picnic tables and boat ramp. Third worlders still will have a huge picnic and just leave trash all over the ground. I am in hopes they make it a pay park which will discourage some of these folks. As it stands they have to pay a cleaning crew might as well charge to get in the park to cover that expense. I used to try and pick up others trash but have pretty much given up it is endless mad

yeah it's terrible. just don't get throwing your garbage down and leaving it. I would be so embarrassed if a piece of trash accidentally blew into the water and I could not retrieve it

That is the respectful thing to do, but it's not other people's responsibility to clean trash up that the white trash and others leave around. Otherwise they will never change. This is why you can't hardly park near the water on big lakes anymore. I remember as a kid driving and fishing all around lake Grapevine. You can't hardly get close to the water anymore by vehicle because people used to go and camp and live in tents and carp, and just leave trash and chit everywhere.

It's because people are stupid. I've had things as small as Twinkie rappers fly out of my boat while I'm running wide open and I circled back around until I found it

My son and I always pack a couple plastic grocery sacks with us. Once we are done fishing we each fill a sack or two and head home. It really rubs me raw to see this. My son did not understand at first why we had to clean up after others and I had to explain to him that a huge part of being an outdoorsman is conservation.
