I'll be heading down to Texoma next weekend for the first time. I plan on trying to find my own fish but still have a couple questions about the area and any possible hazards in the lake. We're taking off out of Catfish bay and I plan to run toward the dam to do most of my fishing (going after smallies for the most part). Are there any hazards to look out for between Catfish Bay and the dam? It looks pretty clear from what I've seen on navionics and google earth.

I'll also be staying near catfish bay and driving through Durant to get there. Is there a gas station in that area that sells ethenol free gas?

Thanks in advance

It's a clear run. Stay in the deep part of the map and you'll be fine. After this rain I'd watch for floaters on the Washita.

Unless you know where the cross bars are on the bridges, use the main spans. Lot of good smallmouth spots just south of where you are launching.

You don't have to run all the way to the dam to catch good smallies. There's quite a few in that area of the lake. They love crankbaits.

Thanks for the info guys. Anybody know anything about gas stations in that area with ethenol free gas? Not sure if should fill up before I head down or if I can wait. I'd prefer not to haul the extra weight for 175 miles lol. I'm sure I can find something but just want to be sure

I want to say there is a station for sure on 70 just east of 75 and possibly another before you get to catfish bay but I'm not 100%.

Theres a free app for your phone called Pure Gas that shows every gas station in the country that sells ethanol free gas. Handy to have around.

Alberta Creek just south of Catfish Bay has gas. I've used them before but do not recall if it is Ethanol free or not. You could call to find out.

Two in Durant. I'm familiar with one. Instead of turning west on 70 in Durant to head to Big Tex, go east under 69 and go about 1/4 mile. It's on the right.
