I'm considering upgrading all my cheap old reels and going to Lew's reels.. I've got my eye on the Lews super duty wide speed spool for my frog duties.. other than that, seeking opinions.
Which lews should I look into? I'm wanting to keep it budget minded. I dont tournament fish right now (at least rarely) but I want good equipment that will last, and hold up to my weekend warrior status. Dont need the BEST.. but the lower end options are plentiful. Just looking for feedback/opinions on the various lews reels available. What do yall think?

Multiple weekly trips with them now over 3 years and never a issue, Super Duty, BB1 Pro and Tournament all got to go, 2 8:1 and a 5.6:1 the best I have used. My BB1 Pro is the best casting reel I have used with Gliss line 40#, 3 trips last week on it and cant wait for the next one. Back the drag off to zero when in storage and they will last as any will do, I was made a believer after fishing with a friend who has lots of them and suggested I try one, there are outlets with much reduced prices off the store prices, then get Academy to match less 5% and compare. My Super Duty was $124 shipped in 2 days.

I've owned and use all the brands.. My fav is Lews with 13 Fishing coming in a close second. That being said, if you are wanting to keep it $200 and under, I'd look hard at the Lews Tournament Pro G, Tourney Lite and Tournament MB. These reels are light weight and cast like no other. I will say tho, if you want a good frogging reel, any of the 13 fishing reels will do you well. They are lighter than the super duty and have 22lbs of drag. The best one for your budget would be a Concept A in my opinion

Brother I use to use Revos exclusively. After a couple generations I started to be less impressed. Once I started working on the Lews I immediately fell in love. I know they both come from the same factory but something about them makes them so smooth and casts like the old Gen 1 Revos. I've started to slowly replace all of mine with Lews

I have not found a Lews I don't like. I have BB1 pro, bb1 inshore, bb2 inshores, and really like them all. My kid is an ABU fan, but still like his BB1 reels as well. I find them on sale at Academy usually and save a few bucks.

About the best way to buy a Lews is look at Sportsman Outfitters prices and call them and ask if any more discounts are available, take that price to Academy and they will match/beat it 5% dont forget to factor in tax.
