I have a 2006 90 hp Evinrude e-tec that has a crack on the side of the motor cover close to where the latch is. How can I fix this? I don't want a cheapie temporary fix. I want the repair to be sturdy and last like it's never been cracked.

Look around online for a used one. There's usually quite a few on eBay.
You are not a good or nice person.

it's smc or frp then, i'm bettin it's smc, and the crack is fairly straight and no fibers in the plastic showing, 3m 58115 or 8115, works with both frp/smc, prep and sanding is important along with channel grinding and backing material, the slower the drying time the better, fiberglass cloth is stronger than mat and i would carefully bond the crack and check fit before repair/reinforcing the backside...read the instructions

If it was mine, I'd stop drill each end of crack and apply JB Weld from the inside. Good to go.
