Starting day 2 of our annual 4 day Caddo trip. Beautiful lake but the fish are lost. We are looking everywhere to help find those lost fish but no luck so far. Hopefully we can rescue some of them today.

How clear are the boat lanes and fishing areas? Did we get enough water flow to break up matted salvinia, or is the lake going to be nigh unfishable this summer?

TBS I'm headed up there shortly. With zero wind fishing is tough. Stick to the frog and cover water.

Sent you a pm. Fished from 230 to 830. Boated 10-12. Had a 5, 7 and lost a 7-8 at boat covering water with froggy

David. The saliva is pretty bad and it spread all over the lake. Where there are normally lily pads, there is now Salvania. I have actually not come across a set of lily pads yet. The fishing has been very tough.

I'm heading down there Tuesday for camping/fishing trip and haven't been in about 6 years. Would one of y'all be willing share an area that I can maybe catch fishing and not be over loaded with salvinia?

Up the river has it also. Focus on main lake pods of pads. Typically areas produce like old folks, Clinton lake, turtle shell, britts gap, Tucker's area. Just fish where salvania isn't at as it will move daily. Main lake roads and up river dinks also

Well I'm back from our annual Caddo trip.....I can't call it a fishing trip because we do as much running around, drinking, eating, and just enjoying the lake as we do fishing. That said, we do fish a lot and I have to say this was the worst fishing I have had there in 20+ years. Lots of rain, lots of current, real muddy water, hardly any pads to be found, giant green fields of giant salvinia, 2 tournaments on Saturday, ran out of rum, and as a group we hardly caught any fish. The lake has definitely seen better fishing days. All in all...a good trip with friends. Wish you could have made it MudShark. But the fishing....not so good.

40lbs for 2 days won the championship over weekend. Big stringer 25lbs on Sunday. Saturday was probably the worst day all year I've had up till 7pm and we caught 15 by dark.
