I hooked onto a decent bass the other day and curious what others think. After setting the hook (weightless lizard) the bass did what they typically do, jump then go deep. But, then it came back shallow to about 5 ft and stopped, nose down. I thought she wrapped me up around a limb or stump because when I tried pulling up, she didn't budge. I had 15 lb fluro so I could pull pretty good but was still concerned about breaking off. I gave her slack hoping she would go deep again and I could get unstuck from any stumps but she didn't move. She just stayed there. I eventually was able to move my boat where I could see her sitting there and my buddy was able to net her without a problem. No line was wrapped on anything; she just sat steady nose down. Has anyone had this happen before, I have never seen this but I'm still learning and consider myself still a rookie after 8 years of bass fishing.

I caught a LMB on Belton one morning at the edge of a shad spawn, Just stayed, didn't fight or run, Solid 6, I think it was too full of shad to fight.

We had one about 5lbs do something close to that bit once we got it in the boat it just died. Wasn't hooked weird and the fight wasn't long, wasn't to deep, no explanation. Just hooked up, drug to boat and looked fine till my buddy put it back and dead

None of each, just flooded timber in a small cove by a main lake point

Several years ago , I landed a 10.2 on a 5" Pearl white Fluke , weightless , 5/0 wide gap hook . Somehow the hook was embedded way back in the mouth , top of the roof of her mouth and fairly deep . All this bass would do was shake her head , no real swimming , just shaking her head . Once I landed her and saw where she was hooked , it dawned on me that the hook had to be close to her brain . Once I unhooked her , she swam off normal .
