I have a 17.6 Stratos glas bass boat with an Edge 45 TM. I'm thinking of upgrading to a Terrova 55# TM with i-pilot and spot lock. This would give me 22% more power and still be on 12V. I do not have room for 2 TM batteries without some modifications and prefer to stay with just 1 battery and carry a spare. I do not have Power Poles.

I don't fish in windy conditions and seek quiet water if it is windy and fish mostly shallow water under 10 feet. 8 hrs is max on the water.

I want to be able to lock on to spots on points in deeper water and also on spots in shallow water as well as have the ability to keep the boat moving at a selected depth.

Appreciate any comments about your experience with the i-Pilot and Spot Lock.

i-Pilot will have the spot lock "anchor" feature and will follow a manual track. i-Pilot Link will connect with (Ethernet and adapter cables required) a compatible Humminbird unit and LakeMaster Charts card to "Go To" waypoint and follow the contour.

PM me or feel free to call direct as I would be happy to assist you further.

So the i-Pilot link only works with a Humminbird unit with GPS and lake map chart card to follow the contour line on the lake map.

The i-Pilot w/o the link will follow a route that you have mapped on the TM and does not need a separate GPS unit.

How shallow can you be and still use the Spot Lock to anchor to a spot?

What is the cheapest model Humminbird that would work with the i-Pilot Link?

Correct

The i-Pilot w/o the link will follow a route that you have mapped on the TM and does not need a separate GPS unit.
Q. How long of a track can I record?
A. Each individual track location (A, B, C, D, E or F) can be up to two
miles in length.

Q. Where are the six tracks and Spot Lock locations stored?
A. In the i-Pilot Controller

Spot lot will work in as shallow of water allowed for the motor to operate. It is not bound by a specific depth.

This would determine if you were wanting the unit to have DI, SI or both as well as GPS and 2D. Or you can simply have a GPS 2D sonar unit to have all the go to and follow the contour features.

I recently bought a Terrova and it was the best money I,ve spent on my boat.
it's amazing. the spot lock is great and the I pilot feature is a great aid
to fishing an area.

Im considering buying one but it has a 60 in shaft which I think will be too long on my ProCraft. How difficult would it be to shorten the shaft to say 52 in?

The shaft can be cut down to size however, it will void the warranty. I recommend if you are going to cut the shaft to have it done at an authorized service center ASC as they may still be able to cover any warranty matters latter on.

Shaft is easy to cut down. Mine is out of warranty so I did it myself. It is pretty simple and since there are no parts needed, only labor, I wouldn't think that it would cost much to have it done to keep your warranty
