Has anyone ever installed a HB SI transducer on their Yak? They do not make a "shoot thru hull". They have a "thru hull" ( would need to drill a hole directly in the bottom of my Yak ) option but I really don't want to mess with how my Yak tracks.

Looking for suggestions on how and where to mount a transom mount transducer on my Yak?

Thanks,

I have one on my Reload so it was fairly easy thing to do with the way the tackle pod is designed.

On my other yak I had one mounted where the rudder would have been.

What about a RAM transducer arm and just hang it over the side?

Mad Frog or RAM transducer arm. The Mad Frog is more streamlined and easier to raise than the RAM.

I thought about mounting it under the rudder but I am afraid that it will constantly be hitting something, most rivers around central Texas are rocky.

I am thinking that a Ram or Scotty transducer arm will probably be best.

Thanks for the input!

I've had a couple SI's and this is close to the way I ran mine. It works great!

I molded my kayak hull to make a depression for transducer where scupper hole is. Highly risky operation, it worked but i won't do it again.

Thanks guys for all the input.

After reading and seeing how and what y'all have done, I have decided to go with the Scotty rail system for the transducer and the unit itself. It seems like they have a rail attachment for everything you could ever need.
