The float clip failed on my 60# Boga grip
Needless to say they aint cheap(sunk it)
Shopping around I see there are a few knock offs simular the Berkley in price.
Anyone use one of these knock offs?

I use a team catfish fish grip knock off. I ordered off eBay, just like the team catfish ones just orange instead of yellow. They work fine and float. Used them up to 66lbs, but won't use them on fish over 40 or so anymore. If they are too big it'll damage the mouth and if I'm planning to release I don't want them beat up.

I maxed out my Bogo 60# many times every season
Another $250 is hard to spend right now and the fish are biting

I had a 20#+ catfish swim away with one of those plastic fish grips after it twisted it out of my hand....Never saw it float to the surface!
That's why they have a lanyard,...just thought it was funny when it happened!

I've got probably 3 sets on the boat and hardly use them other than to hold the fish for pics or when the kids want to hold their fish. I boat flip anything under 10lbs usually and if it's up around 20lbs+ I use the net. $250 for fish grips is a product "catching" a fisherman.

Hold them big blues by the top jaw for pics and they don't bite for some reason, flathead don't bite hard enough to use grips. I like a little knuckle rash after fishing anyway, means I did well.

No joke the Boga are class act good stuff with the scale/weigh
Stupid expensive yes indeed, much like a St Croix rod and many other things people DO when they have coin to burn.
We burn the cash and spend decades defending said purchases that wont fit in a casket
Im thinking the Lockjaw grips are in order for my Yak defense situation after recent events in the low water boat.
The length data established will get me close enough to record potential per water body if need should arise
35 inches is a throw back for seed and I always do it over 24" to preserve the seeder stock
.
Death roll on a big cat aint for plastic pliers I promise
