Do you guys prefer fishing the mornings there more than the evenings? I don't fish early mornings as much as I do low light around dusk, but the last hour of the day is normally excellent.
Don't worry about the mule, just load the cart

I mainly fish the mornings also. Best bites for me are from day break till about 10am. Once fall arrives and temperatures cool off I love fishing early evening till dark. Summer night fishing is also great.

Thanks Gitter for the reply. I have seen a variety of fish. Sunfish,Gar,Carp,Rios,Channel Cats, and Bass. As Jamie stated the holes were about a quarter of a mile apart. Most of the holes are spring fed and do have water in them year around. Right now the springs are full. Would love to see one more nice solid rain the next couple of weeks. That would really help. Interesting to read reports from the smaller rivers. Thanks.

Great post guys. Myself and friends kayaked both the Nueces and Frio rivers last April. We camped out for three days and had a blast. I did some research on the Sabinal River and it did not seem that good of a kayak river. Looks like a lot of pockets with long dry beds in between. The only part that looked like a good run of water was around Utopia. I could also find only one public put in. Do you have any other information on the Sabinal for kayak fishing? Thanks.

Thanks Curtis for the reply. I was told the only good place to kayak the Sabinal is around Utopia. Side Note: I could only find one public put in which is at the city park in Utopia.

I sure hope that area gets some rain. Those springs can use a really good charge!
