Got out for a bit Memorial Day morning. Brought 13 home. Prolly caught 40. Started at the dam in 20' of water and caught 1 keeper and a couple of throw backs. Moved to the bridge, as the wind was very light. I've never seen so many boats at the bridge before. Caught a couple of keepers and a few throw backs. Moved on north to check the shallow water brush. I wasn't disappointed. Caught 10 keepers out of 7' of water. Just off the bottom. The bottom fish in the pic was the biggest, and come out of 20' of water, and was a male. The second largest came out of 7' of water and was loaded with eggs. Go figure. Great day to be on the water, light winds and fish were biting. A little change on jig head. Used a 1/8th oz. painted black. Just because of the 20' depth to start out. I didn't want to retie so I used that all day. Texas Toast Crawl'r was the plastic. Yesterday was one of the very few times I came home and clean my catch. I remember why now. Fresh fish are harder for me to clean than fish that have been on ice over night. That is just my preference.
