Minn Kota propellor problem

Propellor seems to be sticking. When i aide it to spin at first it works perfectly. Only has a problem starting to spin. Thoughts?

Pull the propeller of and make sure there isn't a bunch of fishing line wrapped around the shaft.

There was no line in the way. I also cleaned the armature
|

Bad spot on the commutator of the armature.

Yep....motor is history. Likely to have water damage.
Last couple I had that did that, one had a "crumbling magnet" and the other had rusty contacts....both had signs of water intrusion.

Bummer. Does it sound like a new armature would work? yepper, as long as it is in a new housing with a new shaft and head. should be fine then. if the armature is gone then the field is most likely toast too or will be soon, buy new.
