The Trophy Bull Rio bite has been pretty GOOD this year. Been seeing a lot of Big Bulls sitting and guarding nest. Been catching a bunch on both Hill Country Rivers and Creeks. Fish are holding in mainly clear water with good current. Fish are by grass beds, lily pads, and rock structures. Fish are in shallow water 2 to 4 feet deep. Bottom techniques were used with live worms as the bait. All fish were released to fight again! Catching some nice Trophy Texas Bull Rios. It just don't get any better! fish

Thanks Jamie for the reply. Yes Sir found a couple of places and just got lucky several of them would bite. The smallest was 9.75". The largest was just a little over 11.50" and weighed 1.61 Lbs. Trying for that 12" plus! thumb

Thanks Will! Two pound Rios are not that common but they are out there. The only other one I saw was one that Fred (Rionator) had caught fishing the east end of the Guadalupe River. The fish was a little over 12" and was super fat. That fish in my opinion was easily over two pounds. Fred just released it. That was one beautiful fish! thumb

Side Note: Have you been catching any Rios?

I haven't caught one yet. I'm hoping this is the year.

You should not have any problems getting a Rio this year at all. There are plenty of them out there. We need to make a road trip to several areas that are on my radar screen! hooked

Wow, what a fish. Hump behind the head looks like a buffalo grazing on the plains. Congrats Banker.
