Waiting on the whitebass can be a futile endeavor but when Mother Nature puts on a show of her own it will always save the day. I did catch several black bass along the rocky shoreline before launching the kayak hoping that the whitebass would make their appearance on the surface.

Springtime in Texas can be quite hard to predict. We can go from cool and pleasant to hot and humid in just a couple of hours. Most often as a cool front approaches warm gulf air rushes up from the coast to meet it giving us a line of thunderstorms along the leading edge. Fish and wildlife respond to the change in weather and on this Saturday I hit it just about right. Even the pigs came out to play.. not too hot but certainly not cool either..
