My opinion........depends on your pocketbook. Rods are no different than any retail purchase. Top of the line G-Rod, second place Bonehead, tied for third & fourth place Pro Angler & ACC Crappie Stiks. Many more that are good and have thier advocates.

You know you are a fishaholic if you have more rods than your wife has shoes!

And you get what you pay for or are willing to accept

My current "pet" setup is a 7'6" ML St Croix Avid Inshore with a Shimano Stradic 1000 and braid with a fluoro leader. Fairly pricey rig but I tend to like higher end tackle. With that said take the St Croix away and put the same reel, line, and leader on a Pro Angler 8' and I catch just as many fish. I've proven this to myself several times over but I continue to prefer the higher priced setup.

Try everything you can get your hands on and let your personal preference and budget dictate what you fish with.

PA is a very good rod, especially good on your pocketbook
But like the original poster of this thread were saying if the price isn't an issue, then GR is a clear winner by far. You do get what you pay far!
The only rod that I like more than a GR would be a custom built from a St Croix SCV Walleye blank!

Mike, IMO, you're spot on with your comment. Good post.
