Good article. I don't think that it really gets the point though. I've always heard that the oxygenator is a piece of "just in a case" equipment. Everyone has had their livewell pumps break down on them before or simply forgotten to turn on the pumps. In that case, alternative means of oxygenating the water is required for cyf (cover your fish) purposes. Your fish will die for sure if that's all you rely on. I had them in my last boat and ended up unhooking them and never hooked them back up. Junk and if anything you put in the well has salt it will cause it to make chlorine which will kill the fish real quick That's not all that I rely on and don't recommend that anyone rely on any one thing. I've got the H2O2, Sure-life, bottles of ice, hypo needle and a small bucket to manually fill the livewell if necessary. How, when and if I use these tools depends on the situation.

My Skeeter came with one and I've never used it. I run fill on auto and aerator on 1-3 of the settings, depending on how hot it is. Never lost a fish that wasn't bleeding.
